Items, except interlibrary loan materials,  may be returned to any Roanoke Valley public library location, no matter where they were borrowed. Please read the interlibrary loan guidelines if you have ordered your books or movies through this service.  

With some exceptions, most items may be renewed once; 28-day books may be renewed twice.  Interlibrary loan materials cannot be renewed except by permission of the lending library;  please consult the librarian at the location where you placed your order to determine if a renewal is available.

You may renew items in person or by telephone at 375-3089 or online at www.rvl.info .
for online renewal,  you will be prompted to enter your library card number (all 13 numbers with no spaces between) and your PIN (the default PIN is RVL).

If the item you are looking for is not found in the computer catalog, arrangements may be made through interlibrary loan to borrow it from a library outside the Roanoke Valley or any other state where the item(s) might be available.  Please click here for information about interlibrary loan. 

We can serve everyone better if you'll remember to return or renew what you borrow before the date due. We have a system of fines for overdue items, the most common are:  

If you lose an item you borrow, you will be charged for the replacement cost, plus a processing fee. If the item is later found, the cost will be refunded but not the processing fee, provided you have the original receipt. There may also be a charge for the repair or replacement when an item is damaged.
