About Us

The Salem Public Library Teen Web is designed especially for teenagers and provides easy access to the library’s most useful online resources for middle and high school students as well as teen-oriented web links, homework help sites.

All teens needing assistance are welcome to come in to the Teen information desk, and Teen Scene staff will assist them in using Teen materials and other resources available in the Library.

Many teens are into coding.  If you like coding please try these websites.

Summer Reading Program 2016: Get in the Game, READ!

Sign-ups for the Teen Summer Reading Program begins June 1st.  We have some very exciting programs this year check out the calendar of events.

Introduction to Web Design:  Every Friday 1-2:30pm (7/15 2:30-4pm)

Karate for Teens:  6/22, 6/23 (11am-12pm)

Laser Tag at Thunder Valley:  6/28 (1pm-2:30pm)

Be Creative Art Projects:  7/11  Paracord Bracelets  (2pm-3pm);  7/18   Virginia String Art:  (2pm-3pm)

Carbyne Fitness:  7/14, 7/26 (2pm-3:30pm)

Wacky Olympics:  7/21  (2pm-3pm)

In celebration of this year's theme "Get in the Game, Read" an instructor for Carbine Fitness will come and lead in some fun exercises.

Jason Lee, a computer major from Radford Univeristy, will lead teens interested in designing a web page.  In this program you will learn to design and create your own web page.

It's our last event for the summer!  Students will have run of library as they seek clues and play games to win the Amazing Race.  Pizza and refreshments will be provided.  Please register for this event at the library or call 375-3089.
