Borrowing and returning library materials:

Items may be returned to any Roanoke Valley public library location, no matter where they were borrowed. With some exceptions, most items may be renewed once; you may renew items in person or by telephone at 375-3089 or online at www.rvl.info where you will be prompted to enter your library card number and the default PIN.

If the item you are looking for is not in the computer catalog, arrangements may be made through interlibrary loan to borrow it from another library in Virginia, or any other state, if necessary.

We can serve everyone better if you'll remember to return or renew what you borrow before the date due. We have a system of fines for overdue items, the most common are:

If you lose an item you borrow, you will be charged for the replacement cost, plus a processing fee. If the item is later found, the cost will be refunded but not the processing fee, provided you have the original receipt. There may also be a charge for the repair or replacement when an item is damaged.
