Getting a library card:

Library Card
If you are a resident of Virginia you can receive your
free library card from any of the seventeen Roanoke
Valley public library branches or bookmobiles.



To apply for a library card:

  1. Ask for a registration form at the Circulation Desk and fill it out.
  2. Give the registration form to a staff member at the Desk and show identification that includes your current address (driver's license, check, bank statement, utility bill).
  3. Children age 11 and under may get a library card with the identification of a parent or legal guardian. The parent/guardian must be present when the card is issued.
  4. Your library card is issued immediately and is yours to use at any of the public libraries in the Roanoke Valley. Temporary cards for out-of-state visitors are available for a fee; ask at the Circulation Desk for more details.
