2009 Summer Reading Program Calendar
2009 Summer Reading Program - Ages 2-10. Information for the
Teen programs for ages 11-16 will be available on the Teen section of
our website.
Register
June 1st-June 17th
and pick up your reading bag and book log.
Kick-off
is
Wednesday, June 17th, with
Face Painting by Devine
Designs @
9 to 11 a.m.
Read or be read to for 5 hours to earn each incentive prize.
This year the prizes include a dog bouncy ball, a stuffed animal
keychain and a bag of creative art supplies. The program ends
July 31st so try and reach the goal of earning the maximum of three
prize levels.
Each of the 7 weeks of Summer Reading involves more fun than you can
stand!
This year's schedule of events continues with Autumn Morning Star
presents
Magical Stories
10 to 11 a.m. on June 18th;
Puppets with Pizzaz
arrive here June 23rd 2 to 3 p.m.; More magic fun on June 29th with
Caleb Johnston’s Magic Show
7-7:45 p.m..
Later,
Einstein’s Monkey
brings us music fun and then
The Musical McKenzies
will play traditional folk music while teaching dance and more—July 21st
at 3 and 7 p.m.!
Fish the Magish
arrives on July 24th at 10 a.m. to bring us a fun morning of magic!
Finally, the Wildlife Center of Virginia will have
Animals Galore July the 28th at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.!
Get creative on most Wednesdays with craft programs or come by on
Thursday mornings for story time hour for ages 2-3 followed by a
session for ages 4-7.
Registration begins June 1st so come by to pick up your bag and
calendar of events plus a surprise that will inspire you to “Be
Creative”.
