2008 Summer Reading Program Calendar

2008 Summer Reading Program  - Ages 2-10.  Information for the Teen programs for ages 11-16 will be available on the Teen section of our website shortly.

Register May 27-June 18th and pick up your reading bag and book log.  Kick-off is Wednesday, June 18th, with the Backpack Puppet Theatre @ 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.  Come early for "buggy" face painting by Devine Designs.

Read or be read to for 5 hours to earn each incentive prize.  This year the prizes include a stuffed bug, a bug jug, a book, or an insect finger puppet.  The program ends July 31st so try and reach the goal of earning the maximum of three prize levels.

Each of the 7 weeks of Summer Reading involves more fun than you can stand! 

This year's schedule of events contineues with a Mill Mountain Zoo educational program on June 24th; The 24-Hour Emergency Juggling & Unicycle Service arrives here July 1st; Musical fun on July 8th with The MacKenzies.  Later, the Barefoot Puppets bring us Trickster Tales and then Belle the Macaw flies over our heads while Dave tells us amazing tales.  Fish the Magish arrives on July 29th for an evening program at 7 p.m. to bring us a fun night of magic!

Get creative on most Wednesdays with craft programs or come by on Thursday mornings for story time hour for ages 2-3 followed by a session for ages 4-7.

Registration begins May 27th so come by to pick up your bag and calendar of events plus a surprise that will "bug" you.!
