The Salem Public Library has always been a gathering place for students after school.  In an effort to give them a place to socialize, we opened the meeting room weekdays from  3-7 pm Monday through Thursday and 3-5 pm on Friday.  This room is now known as “Our Space” because it truly is the teen’s space at the library. (Grades 6 –10)  “Our Space” offers 8 Internet computers, XBox 360, Wii, board games and other fun activities, such as parties, DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) and coming soon Rock Band.

Our Summer Reading Program is going to be exciting this year. The theme is “Express Yourself” and we are planning some great activities.  Please put the dates below on your calendar.

June 18:  Henna Program with Sally Edleman!  2 to 4 pm.

June 23:  Graphic Novel Art!  2 to 4 pm.

June 25: Teen Game Day 2 to 4 pm.

June 30:  Super Kicks!  5 to 7 pm.

Please don’t miss out on all the fun we are going to have this summer!

I hope to see you soon!

David Butler (Teen Services Librarian)
